Directions to the Cedar River Dog Park in Renton
From I-405 northbound, take exit 4B, which will put you on Bronson Way. From I-405 southbound, take exit 4, which will put you on Sunset Blvd, then onto Bronson Way. Look for the signs for Bronson Way/City Center.
Once on Bronson Way, get in the left lane and go about 1/4 a mile. At the intersection of Bronson and Park Ave. (which isn’t clearly marked, but has a stoplight), you’ll see the Community Building and Liberty Park on the left. Get in the far left lane. Just after this intersection, you’ll cross the Cedar River and see the city library on your left, spanning the river. Immediately after crossing the river, take the 45º angled left turn onto Mill Ave. (again, not clearly marked).
Once on Mill Ave, go one and a half blocks until you come to the stoplight at Houser Way. Go straight, crossing Houser and the railroad tracks, then take an immediate left onto 3rd St/Renton Ave. Just a few feet after the “Historic Renton Hill” sign, take a hard left onto the unmarked access road. Do not go up the hill!
The access road goes along the 405 retaining wall, then under 405. You can park anywhere along the road, as long as you’re not blocking or you're not too close to the tracks, which are in use. The access road ends at a gate at the head of the Cedar River Trail, and there are parking spots there, too.
After parking, there’s about a 3 min. walk along the Cedar River Trail from the access road gate to the off-leash area, which is located off to the right of the Cedar River Trail. Look for the signs and listen for the barks!
